E-PLAT is the next generation of internet applications.  Not a website, not a piece of software, E-PLAT is your site.

Based on the Mathematics Learning Area of the Western Australian Curriculum Framework, Levels One to Five, EPLAT – MATHEMATICS allows teachers to:

  • quickly develop a teaching programme, based on the Mathematics CLUSTERS, OUTCOMES, ASPECTS and ORGANISERS
  • quickly develop a teaching activity, based on the work of Dr Paul Swan and Geoff White, using the DTES (Discover, Talk, Explain, Symbols) proforma
  • share this teaching activity with other teachers
  • search for, and modify, an activity from the growing EPLAT – MATHEMATICS library
  • quickly record what has been taught/covered

For their students, E-PLAT – MATHEMATICS allows teachers to:

  • easily track student learning
  • easily record student content coverage
  • add assessment results from a variety of sources (NAPLAN, WOMBAT, etc)

As a teacher you can upload and share teacher planning for student learning in Mathematics/Numeracy using a standard proforma. You can search for activities/lessons which have previously been submitted by school staff and consultants who work with schools.

As a teacher you will:

  • have easy access to previous planning
  • develop a planning history and record
  • have easy access to lesson programmes or plans or activities
  • keep track of individual student achievement, K to 10

EPLAT – MATHEMATICS is also a collaborative website whereby teachers are able to communicate via discussion boards and chat rooms.
